Hi, I’m Jessi and it’s lovely that you have found your way to my space.

My practice draws on my unique professional background and experiences of change, healing and health for those I work with.  

 

My qualifications (psychotherapy, counselling, yoga, PhD neuroscience) enable me to unite knowledge of contrasting philosophies from Eastern psychology with Western brain science to inform my practice. I have decades of experience as a (clinical) researcher, lecturer and trainer, psychotherapist/counsellor, yoga teacher, mind-body coach and psychological treatment developer. Given this professional uniqueness, I warmly welcome you to my practice which is designed for your growth and unfolding. Should we decide to start working together, I am convinced it will lead to a more vital place than where we start from, for both of us. So, thank you and welcome.

 

As much as you may be looking for an expert, foremost I’d like to propose we meet in our shared humanity. This is part of my professional values and therein I offer my authenticity, compassionate presence and fruitful vulnerability. I see this as the bedrock for a powerful encounter. The overarching approach I use in all my work relates to brain-body communication. I integrate somatic methods in my therapy practice to join up mind and body. As a researching psychologist formerly Assistant Professor at Newcastle University, I specialise in interoception and examine how the perception and interpretation of body-based signals influence mental health, and how embodied practices – yoga and mindfulness – enhance wellbeing. Based on my academic and practitioner expertise, I consult on research as well as business projects. I offer individual and business coaching and training to enliven the sense of self through improved brain-body communication.
